Loving what I do Every Day

There has to be something said about the love of dogs.

I look at this picture of me and a very large Golden Doodle Koda. There is defiantly a mutual admiration.

Koda has been in the K9 Cuddles Pack for about 2 1/2 years. He has his quirks of course, but don't all dogs?

But as I was reading some of the testimonial's I received recently there is a common trend through all of them, and that is the love I have for their dogs and that is absolutely truth. I mention in my "About Me "section on the site here about my Love for animals. I grew up on a farm and had a pet cow named Brandi , a pet chicken who was Suzy , and of course many stray dogs that stayed everything from German Shepard's to Rough Collie's to Terriers of some sort.

And here I am many years later making a living from being with what I love the most DOGS!!!

I think I can speak for most of us that there is nothing better than looking into the face of a dog and seeing the most deepest and sincere love and trust they have for their human.

The picture here shows it all I think.

This is why I do what I do.

Some days clients come to the door to drop their dog off and everyone inside is super excited and barking because they 1. See another Human they can get some pets from and 2. They know another friend just arrived.

I get asked several times HOW DO YOU DO IT?

Well what most people don't understand is that as soon as you leave and their friend is now in the house everyone is happy and content and there is no more barking. Until the next friend comes!

I started K9 Cuddles in July 2018 I took 3 trips in those 6 years, running this business is really not a job where I feel I NEED to take a vacation because of the work related stress. I have no boss to please, just me and the dogs. I have no co-workers that I have to put up with. I have no commute in Calgary rush hour traffic or transit system which I despise. (Besides I would much rather hear some barking for 10-15 min maybe than the honking of horns in traffic, or someone yelling, or phones ringing or co-workers complaining.)

It all comes back to loving what I do and loving the environment I have created.

I send pictures and updates to clients when they are away and 99.9% of the time there is at least one or two pictures of their dog cuddled up to me on the couch.

To answer the most Common Question How Do I Do it?

THIS right here, when I sit on the couch and someone is very eager for me to sit so they can get close and snuggle is one of the best feelings for me.

Angus on the left is a Sheep doodle that loves being next to his human, and Cooper on the right loves a human bed.

So you see this is not a Cooperate Job where the burn out is high, stress is high and a vacation is NEEDED, this is my dream and I can honestly say I am living my dream for real.

Many people don't have that option in life, I am very grateful for deciding this path for the rest of my life and I am deeply deeply grateful for over 100 clients that have trusted me with their beloved friend over these last 6 years. Some have been just a one time emergency situation, some are still here and come every week and some come a stay for 2-4 weeks or more.

I can't ask for anything better than the love of a Dog.

Excellent, Lauretta. So nice to hear about your heartfelt love for dogs.

The fact that Petal is always excited when we arrive is what convinces me she loves her visits!
